MailSpotter keeps Winhelpline free of SPAM!

Winhelpline is the synonym for quick and accurate answers for all questions concerning Microsoft's operating system Windows. The principle of Winhelpline is as easy as brilliant: Users help users. You can post your problem or question in a forum at any time. Because at least one of the about 70,000 users will have an answer. Or you might find an answer for your question in one of the about 680,000 entries for more than 131,000 topics.

When it comes to SPAM and virus protection the team behind the scenes don't rely on different helpers. Here they committed themselves absolutely the MailSpotter service by Intradus. So MailSpotter filters all incoming e-mails on SPAM and viruses on a hosted server. That way the data rubbish can't even find the way into the network of Winhelpline.

And the result deserves attention. Since the installation of the MailSpotter service there have been processed almost 600,000 incoming SMTP connections. About 360,000 of these 600,000 connections have been declined because of high SPAM suspicion by the first step of the service – the SMTP-based SPAM filter like the Greylisting or the recipient validation on SMTP basis. Finally 240,000 e-mails have been processed and 228,000 of them were identified as SPAM. Furthermore the MailSpotter could successfully block 530 virus attacks till now.

The central advantage for Winhelpline: Neither a special administrator is needed to take care of the MailSpotter service nor does the system require resources in the internal network. Because the service filters all incoming e-mails for the currently 44 members of the Winhelpline team on an external, hosted server.
